The Elmira College Christian Fellowship Club recently invited students, campus-wide, to pack shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child, a project of the international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse.
More than 100 students gathered on November 7th, to pack 1,035 shoebox gifts for children around the world. The event marked the largest outreach that the Elmira College Christian Fellowship Club has had - both to extend outside the United States and to gather fellow students on campus.
Members of the Club emphasized the power each gift-filled shoebox had as a tool for transforming the lives of children and their families around the world, and how a child touched by the program may some day become an Elmira College student due, in part, to these gifts of hope and caring.
