American Grammy-nominated violinist, Josh Vietti will perform at Elmira College tonight, Thursday, December 3 at 8:00 p.m., in Gibson Theatre, Emerson Hall.
Josh Vietti, a Hip-Hop/Pop Violinist from Southern California, incorporates pop, classical, country, gospel and jazz into his performances and is highly interactive with the audience. Vietti, who has played the violin since the age of four, received a violin scholarship at the age of seven with virtuoso Mischa Lefkowitz of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He studied with Lefkowitz for over ten years. Vietti has appeared in an NBA All-Star Game Commercial, has performed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown and on celebrity-wedding planner David Tutera’s hit TV show CELEBrations on WEtv. He has also performed at Dodger Stadium several times and at private performances for Michael Jordan, Les Moonves, Julie Chen, Bruce Ramer, Jerry Weintraub, David and Charles Koch and Texas Governor Rick Perry.
Vietti currently tours the United States performing at colleges, corporate events, weddings and jazz festivals. He has performed for sold out crowds with a full band at the Catalina Island Jazz Festival, Stone Soul Festival in Richmond, VA, the Lake Arbor Jazz Festival in Baltimore, MD and the Seabreeze Jazz Festival in Panama City Beach, Florida. Vietti has opened for many major artists, such as, Earth Wind & Fire, Ne-Yo, B.o.B., Fantasia, Fabolous, Lil Wayne and Justin Moore. He has also been interviewed and performed live on several radio stations across the country and abroad. He was featured on the Rickey Smiley Show in Atlanta, Z100’s Elvis Duran Morning Show in New York City, Cleveland’s hip hop station Z107.9, Eminem's SiriusXM channel Shade 45 with Sway In The Morning as well as Toronto’s classic rock station Q107 with radio host Kim Mitchell. Additionally, Josh recorded two pieces for HITS 1 on SiriusXM for Stanley T In The Morning. He was also invited to perform on AXS.TV, a music channel owned jointly by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, CAA and Ryan Seacrest and backed by CBS. After debuting his original song "Street Violin," Cuban tweeted: “loving @joshvietti on @AXSTV #axslive Im a new fan!”
