Following another flawless weekend of ECAC West competition, the Elmira College women's ice hockey team remained as the country's second-ranked team, according to both U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) and D3hockey.com national polls.

The Soaring Eagles earned a pair of 4-1 road victories over the weekend against Chatham University, which extended Elmira's unbeaten streak to 16 games. EC's 16-game stretch is the country's second-active longest unbeaten streak, second only to unbeaten Plattsburgh State, who has won 18 in a row.  The wins over the Cougars puts Elmira's conference record at 10-0-0, setting up an all-important weekend showdown with top-ranked Plattsburgh for supremacy of the ECAC West.

Maddy Jerolman '19 had a superb weekend for Elmira, as she led the Soaring Eagles with four points on one goal and three assists. Her lone goal was scored in the first game of the series, while her three assists were registered in game two. Jerolman's three-assist performance against Chatham was a career high for single-game points and assists.

Jerolman, along with fellow rookies Shannon Strawinski '19, Maddie Evangelous '19, and Kristin Chivers '19, combined for 11 of Elmira's 22 points over the weekend. The rookie class scored three goals and assisted on eight others.

Elmira returns to action this weekend for its most anticipated conference series of the year, as the Soaring Eagles welcome top-ranked Plattsburgh to the Murray Athletic Center Ice Arena. The first of two games is scheduled for Saturday, January 30th, at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's contest will be the first meeting between the two teams since last year's NCAA Division III Championship Game, and the first meeting at the domes since the 2015 ECAC West Conference Tournament final.
