The Elmira College Art Club will host two open studios in Fassett Commons this Friday and Saturday as part of the Elmira College Arts Alive 2016.
On Friday, February 5 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., there will be live music by students Karissa Andersen'17 and Nick Vanderwood'19. Video Art Experiments in Visuals and Sound will be projected on the drawing studio walls after dark (approximately 6pm). There will be several interactive audience projects, as well as an exhibition of student art work.
On Saturday, February 6 from noon to 3:00 p.m., the Art Club invites families to stop by and participate in art activities for children, including a chance to sculpt with clay, throw a vessel on the pottery wheel, and create a crayon masterpiece. There will be live music provided by students Karissa and Nick, and college students can be observed painting at their easels in the art studio.
Arts Alivea at Elmira College is a Term II celebration of the arts that features presentations, performances, and exhibitions by faculty, students and special guests. Many forms of art are represented in the celebration, including the fine arts, the performing arts, music, and the application of art within various disciplines such as math and science.
