The Elmira College Concert Ensemble invited members of the community to attend their Spring Concert, Monday, March 21 in the Campus Center Dining Hall. The evening included a guest performance by the Corning Area Community Concert Band.
This year’s concert began with a Dixieland band feature working into a patriotic tribute. Other works performed included: Dona Nobis Pacem, a various on Simple Gifts by Anne McGinty, American Salute by Morton Gould, American Heroes – A Tribute to the Armed Forces, as well as other uplifting musical selections.
This event was free and open to the public as part of Arts Alive 2016 at Elmira College.
Arts Alive at Elmira College is a Term II celebration of the arts that features presentations, performances, and exhibitions by faculty, students and special guests. Many forms of art are represented in the celebration, including the fine arts, the performing arts, music, and the application of art within various disciplines such as math and science.
