Two Elmira College students were named 2016 ISM-FLR Scholarship recipients at the organization’s annual awards ceremony on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Elmira Country Club.
Brittney Cirinna’17 and Marisa Sponable’18 were selected as the 2016 recipients based on academic, social, and professional criteria. The selection process included a written application with personal statement and an interview with a panel of Institute for Supply Management Finger Lakes Region professionals.
“The organization is very proud of the ISM-FLR Scholarship Program,” said Eric J. Watson, President of ISM Finger Lakes Region. “The goal of the institute is to foster education while enhancing the profession of supply chain management. We believe this year’s winners, Brittney and Cirinna, will make excellent ambassadors of both the award and the profession as they embark on their careers in the coming years.”
Cirinna and Sponable were presented with the awards by Watson and Greg Jensen, ISM-FLR Vice President and Director of Membership, during Thursday’s awards ceremony. The evening also included the keynote presentation, “How to Fuel Creativity in the Workplace,” by Dr. Elisa Valenzuela, Assistant Professor of Management at Elmira College.

Each year, ISM Finger Lakes Region awards up to $2000.00 in cash scholarships to students from local colleges in central New York who are interested in pursuing a career in Supply Chain Management.
