“Playing hockey my whole life and watching the past World Cup tournaments as a kid, it is a thrill that I will now have the chance to work with some of the finest coaches and players in the game.”

Elmira College alumnus, Kimber Auerbach ’05, was recently named to the U.S. 2016 World Cup Hockey team’s communications support staff.   Auerbach, who currently serves as Director of Communications with the New York Islanders, joins USA Hockey’s Dave Fischer as the official two-person communications staff for the 2016 World Cup team.

“I am honored to represent USA Hockey at the upcoming 2016 World Cup of Hockey.  Anytime you’re selected to work for your country in any capacity, it is humbling,” said Auerbach.  “Playing hockey my whole life and watching the past World Cup tournaments as a kid, it is a thrill that I will now have the chance to work with some of the finest coaches and players in the game.”

The 2016 World Cup of Hockey will take place from Sept. 17-Oct. 1 in Toronto and include the U.S., Canada, Czech Republic, Europe, Finland, North America, Russia and Sweden.  The World Cup of Hockey is a joint effort of the National Hockey League Players' Association and the National Hockey League, in cooperation with the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and its member federations.
