Joyce Favicchio was on campus Monday, May 9 as part of the Mentor Monday campaign. Students interested in marketing were encouraged to take this opportunity to network with and learn from Joyce’s experience in the business world. Students also had a chance to have their résumés reviewed and interview skills critiqued.

Joyce Favicchio has over 16 years in marketing experience.  She graduated from Oneonta State University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Buying, however, after participating in a few internships, she quickly realized that she wanted to focus her career on marketing.   Joyce’s professional career started in New York City working for GUESS? Jeans, as a Marketing Assistant and within five years she became a department manager.

After relocating to Albany, NY, she took a Director of Marketing position for Chartwells Higher Education at the University at Albany.  As the director Joyce managed a team of three (Marketing Assistant, Graphic Designer and Intern) with the objectives to drive sales, enhance student engagement, build excitement and guest satisfaction.   In May 2011, she accepted a promotion as the District Marketing Director for the upstate New York area.  Joyce partners with Chartwells accounts within the district on marketing initiatives, programs that drive guest satisfaction and sales, and enhancing student engagement.
