The Seventh Annual Elmira College Student Research Conference will be held Wednesday, May 18, 1:00-5:00 p.m., in Cowles Hall at Elmira College. The public is invited to attend.
The annual conference is a faculty-organized conference that highlights the research in which Elmira College students and faculty are engaged. The 2016 event includes 24 presentations from a broad range of disciplinary perspectives. A sampling of titles includes: “MyCHF: Taking Control to Reduce Hospital Readmissions,” “The Evolution and Reformation of Traditional Marriage,” “Using Alternative Curricular Approaches to Teach the Common Core State Standards,” and “Multidisciplinary Support to Enhance Nutrition Throughout Cancer Treatment.” The day consists of student research poster sessions from 1:00-2:00 p.m., paper presentations from 2:00-3:00 p.m., and presentations of papers from the Freshman Writing Program from 3:00-4:00 p.m. An awards ceremony will follow at 4:30 p.m., honoring the best research projects presented. Light refreshment will be provided.
