Reunion 2016 officially gets underway today as alumni of all ages begin to gather for a full weekend of activities, both on- and off-campus, that provide a chance to reconnect with old friends, reminisce, and make new connections and memories.
Reunion 2016 activities include: Nik Lite Party Band, Parade of Classes, Mountain Day Picnic, 2nd Annual EC Wine Fest, an AAVP information session, visiting the grounds of Quarry Farm, and lectures by Dr. Jared Baker, Dr. Jim Twombly, Dr. Charlie Mitchell and Kim Wenglik Curtis '83.
Alumna Kim Curtis ‘83, author of Money Secrets: Keys to Smart Investing, will share her extensive knowledge on investing during two separate sessions in the Finance Trading Room - 2:00 p.m., Friday and 2:00 p.m., Saturday. Curtis is President and CEO of Wealth Legacy Institute based in Denver, Colorado, and has been published in a variety of publications including the Wall Street Journal. Her groundbreaking work in developing a highly personal client-centric legacy planning model was recognized in the Journal of Practical Estate Planning, winning the Editor's Choice award. This model is the cornerstone of her firm’s holistic and highly successful approach to integrated wealth management.
On Saturday, the 2nd Annual EC Wine Fest returns to Carnegie Lawn from 1:00-4:00 p.m.and once again features live music and tasting samples from Finger Lakes wineries, breweries and Finger Lakes Distilling. Sponsors of this year’s event include Savino’s Liquor & Wines; WENY; GCP Discount Liquors; and the Hilliard Corporation. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the renovation of an Elmira College Alumni House, which will provide lodging for visiting alumni. Tickets are available for purchase at the event.
