The first fall weekend at Elmira College brings a variety of campus events - arts, academics, and athletics - for all to enjoy.
Kick-off the weekend on Thursday, by joining the Art Department at the exhibit opening and reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the George Waters Gallery in the Campus Center. The exhibit features the work of nine regional and international photographers, including alumna Christine Heusner ’03. Regular gallery hours for the exhibit are noon to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with the photography exhibit on display through October 14.
Friday, September 23 brings the first presentation in this year’s Lecture Series in Sciences Dr. Roald Hoffmann, Frank H. T. Rhodes Professor of Humane Letters Emeritus at Cornell University, presents “Protochemistires are a Bridge,” 7:00 p.m. in Peterson Chapel, Cowles Hall. The presentation, co-sponsored by Elmira College and the American Chemical Society, looks into how chemistry is a part of our everyday world.
Saturday and Sunday continue the list of activities with many of the Elmira College athletics teams in competition - either home or away. Be sure to check the athletics calendar to see where you can see the Soaring Eagles in action this weekend.
