October 07 2016
Throughout the month of October the Office of Career Services is hosting a variety of events for students and the community, including Mentor Mondays, Lunch and Learn and Live @ Five workshops, and the Graduate School Fair.
On Mondays different professionals will be on campus to meet one-on-one with students, review their resume and cover letters, or simply share their professional experiences.
Earlier this week Amanda Chafee, Assistant District Attorney of Steuben County, met with students, including Nia Gadsden '18, to discuss her career, review student resumes, and share the steps to becoming a lawyer.
"Mentor Monday with Amanda was such a great opportunity to network during my busy class schedule. The advice she had about law school is great information and coming from someone currently in the field is so encouraging,” said Nia, a psychology and criminal justice double major.
“I was able to walk away with not only a business card, but an internship, which was an amazing feeling.”
Mentor Mondays continue on:
All Mentor Mondays are scheduled from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Howell Seminar Room, Meier Hall.
Lunch & Learn Workshop
On Thursday, October 13, Dan Mori from Employment Solutions will be sharing tips and best practices for LinkedIn from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Tifft Lounge, Campus Center.
