On Thursday, November 10, Mexican documentary filmmaker, Tin Dirdamal, will screen his first film, De nadie, in the Gannett Tripp Library Lecture Hall at 4:00 p.m.
Originally screened during the 2006 Sundance Film Festival in the World Cinema Competition: Documentary section, De nadie raises important questions on the border crisis between the United States, Mexico and Central America.
In the film, Dirdamal travels with migrants from Central America to the United States border. By focusing on the struggles of thousands of Central Americans who cross into Mexico before attempting to enter the U.S., the film portrays a side of migration not usually discussed in the news media.
De nadie is subtitled in English and will be followed by a Q&A session with Dirdamal.
This event is free and open to the public and organized by the Elmira College Spanish Club.
