Dr. James K. Nageldinger, Assistant Professor of Literacy, co-authored a paper that was recently accepted for publication by the Athens Journal of Education.
In this paper, titled “New Perspectives on Picture Books,” Nageldinger and his co-authors explore the educational potential of wordless picture books beyond early grades to support literacy across the curriculum.
Dr. Nageldinger and his colleagues also focus on the use of picture books to integrate STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines, to strengthen reading fluency, and to teach students about social justice.
The paper is available to view online and will be in a forthcoming issue of the Athens Journal of Education.
