Vincent Howell, adjunct professor in strategic planning, project management and business ethics, was recently elected to serve as part of the Society of Mechanical Engineers International Directors and Member Council. His term will begin in January 2017.
SME is a nonprofit organization that serves practitioners, companies, educators, government and communities across the manufacturing spectrum. Before becoming an international director, Vincent was elected as an SME fellow in 2013. He has also served as a chapter and SME Member Council leader.
“These accomplished professionals are valuable counselors and leaders who are committed to SME,” said Sandra Bouckley, FSME, 2017 SME president in a press release announcing the new appointments. “I look forward to working with them in continued support of our industry, its workforce and our members through education, engagement and advocacy.”
Howell has 40 years of manufacturing engineering and management experience spanning process industries and electronics manufacturing. He retired from Corning Incorporated as manager, intellectual asset protection for the LCD glass manufacturing business.
