In celebration of National Youth Art Month, the community is invited to view artwork by Elmira College students in an exhibit with Community Arts of Elmira, a local arts center
Curated by Elmira College student Gabrielle Higgins '18, the exhibition will be on display in the Community Arts’ Przygoda Gallery from March 1 to 31. The community is also invited to an opening reception on Thursday, March 2 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Przygoda Gallery.
"I have been privileged to work with Community Arts of Elmira for the last two years, as a community service volunteer, and now as an intern. Community Arts of Elmira has provided me with countless opportunities to interact with and help to expand Elmira's art community,” said Gabrielle, a history and art double major.
“Curating a show for Elmira College students is a very meaningful experience for me, because it gives me a deeper understanding of what it is like to work as a professional in an art gallery.”
The exhibit’s poster features an illustration by art and psychology double major, Kaitlyn Ritz '18.
