Elmira College’s Big Events Committee presents music producer and electronic dance sensation, Whethan, at the annual Big Event on Saturday April 1 in Speidel Gymnasium.  Opening for Whethan is music producer and touring DJ, Haiko, a senior Elmira College business administration major.

Haiko, whose real name is Jeremy Jaico ’17, has come a long way since writing his first beats at a high school lunch table in The Bronx. Since coming to Elmira College, his dynamic remixes have garnered thousands of online plays and the music video for his single “VXLGVR” premiered at the prominent South by Southwest (SXSW) music and film festival in Austin, Texas.

Haiko has performed alongside artists such as B.O.B., Chainsmokers, and Thomas Newson. He is set to launch his new EP in April before graduating with the Wonderful Class of 2017 in June.

The Big Event headliner, Whethan, is 17-year-old Chicago native Ethan Snoreck. The stage name, Whethan, came from a school nickname created by friends. He recently became the youngest producer ever to release a record on Australia’s leading electronic label, Future Classic.

Both performances will be in Speidel Gymnasium with doors opening at 8:30 p.m., and Haiko taking the stage at 9:00 p.m.

This concert is open to the public. Non-EC student tickets are $10.00 each and can be purchased at the Information Desk in the Campus Center during regular business hours until Friday, March 31 at 5:00 p.m.
