The Elmira College Women's and Gender Studies Program invites the community to celebrate Women’s History Month this March through a series of on-campus events.
This year’s events include an alumna and student art show, as well as a spoken word performance titled, “We Are Women Hear Us Roar.” The EC Art Club, Students Against Sexism and Stereotypes (SASS), and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program are hosting the event on Thursday, March 23 at 5:00 p.m. in Mackenzie’s Café, located inside the Campus Center.
Another event features a presentation by Elmira College Curator and Archivist, Nathaniel Ball on “The Creation of a Women’s Rights and Suffrage Collection: Findings from the Elmira College Archives.” The lecture will be held on Friday, March 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Harris Hall, Room 14.
Both of these events are free and open to the public.
Be sure to check back throughout the month for stories on the influential women who made an impact on the Elmira College community.
