March is Women’s History Month, and to mark the occasion the Elmira College Women's and Gender Studies Program invites the community to attend two happenings on campus this week.

The first event, on Thursday, March 23, is a spoken word performance titled, “We Are Women Hear Us Roar.”  The EC Art Club, Students Against Sexism and Stereotypes (SASS), and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program are hosting the event at 5:00 p.m. in Mackenzie’s Café, located inside the Campus Center.

The second event, on Friday, March 24, features a presentation by Elmira College Curator and Archivist, Nathaniel Ball on “The Creation of a Women’s Rights and Suffrage Collection: Findings from the Elmira College Archives.” The lecture will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Harris Hall, Room 14.

Both of these events are free and open to the public.
