Dr. Corey McCall Contributes to Book Symposium

Dr. Corey McCall, Associate Professor of Philosophy, was recently published in a book symposium by the Journal of the Society for Contemporary Thought and the Islamicate World, or SCTIW.

Dr. McCall’s paper, titled, “Foucault: Against the Ideology of Enlightenment,” looks at the role that an ideology of the Enlightenment plays in Foucault's understanding of the Iranian Revolution based on Dr. Behrooz Ghamari-Tabrizi's book, “Foucault in Iran: Islamic Revolution after the Enlightenment.”

Other symposium contributors included: Banu Bargu from the New School for Social Research, Anthony C. Alessandrini from Kingsborough Community College/CUNY, Kevin Thompson from DePaul University, Navid Pourmokhtari from the University of Alberta, Kristin Soraya Batmanghelichi from Columbia University, and a response by the author, Behrooz Ghamari-Tabrizi from the University of Illinois.
