Celebrating Excellence in Athletics

The Department of Athletics and the Office of Alumni Relations co-sponsor Athletics Alumni Weekend each winter. This event provides a great opportunity to renew old friendships and share special memories of days gone by at EC. Alumni games reunite former teammates followed by contests showcasing current varsity teams. After you leave Elmira, this will be a "must" to attend.

Each spring, Elmira College recognizes the team and individual accomplishments of its student-athletes at the Annual Athletics Awards Banquet in May.

This semi-formal event honors all varsity and junior varsity student-athletes. The coveted Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards, along with a season in review video are the major highlights of this banquet.

A special Graduating Class Reception takes place prior to the Athletics Awards Banquet. Senior student-athletes, both varsity and junior varsity, are recognized for their participation in the athletics program. The ECAC Merit Medal is presented to select members of the class for combined outstanding academic and athletic achievements.

The Annual Hoops Hysteria  for Men's and Women's Basketball, Parents' Weekend athletic contests, Purple and Gold intra-squad games for Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, along with "Skate with an Eagle" round out the many special events that take place during the academic year.
