A Great Start

Elmira College Fall Orientation Where else would 200 of your fellow students help you move in?

At Elmira College, we want you to be a part of the community from the start. That is why 200 volunteer student Orientation Leaders (as well as faculty and administrators) spend the first four days of your college career showing you the ropes. During Freshman Orientation, you will:

  • Meet with your advisor and College administrators who will share the policies and resources that you will use at Elmira College.
  • Meet fellow students at evening socials, the EC Olympics, the Orientation Leader Talent Show, a barbecue at The President's Home, and the Ultimate Icebreaker.
  • Become involved in a club at the Activities Fair.
  • Get a head start on your academic requirements for the year by attending Encore performances, Core and Writing classes, and choosing a community service placement.
  • Learn about some of our time-honored College traditions, like singing, wearing beanies, the raising of the Class Banner, the Candlelight Ceremony and making  new members of our community feel at home.

After four busy days, you will have all the tools you need to succeed at EC. You  also will have good friends and fond memories to build upon in the years to come.
