Six graduating Elmira College cadets were commissioned during the annual Army & Air Force ROTC Commissioning Ceremony in the College’s newly renovated Cowles Hall held Friday, June 1. This ceremony marks the completion of their time as EC Army & Air Force ROTC Cadets and the beginning of their careers in service to our nation.
Brigadier General Dale Barber addressed students and their family, faculty and administrators during the Commissioning Ceremony.
The graduating Army & Air Force ROTC cadets include:
Lt. Courtney Diehl ’12, Active Duty – Nurse Corps, Army
Courtney will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. She will receive her assignment upon completion of her medical boards.
Lt. Bethany Incze ’12, Active Duty – Nurse Corps, Army
Bethany will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. She will receive her assignment upon completion of her medical boards.
Lt. Brian Jones ’12, Active Duty – Ordnance, Army
Brian will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. He will report to Fort Campbell, Kentucky for his first assignment.
Lt. Peter Lane ’12, Active Duty – Infantry, Army
Peter will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Art degree in History. He will report to Korea for his first duty assignment.
Lt. Aili Miettinen ’12, Active Duty – Engineer Corps, Army
Aili will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Philosophy. She will be assigned to the 11th Engineer Battalion in Fort Benning, Georgia.
Lt. Angela Nelson ’12, Active Duty – Medical Service Corps, Air Force
Angela will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology. She will report to Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland for her first assignment. Angela was honored as a Distinguished Graduate of the Detachment.
