Dr. Meier Congratulates Commencement Winners

 Three outstanding members of the Elmira College Community were honored at Commencement.

Manager of the Murray Athletic Center and Head Tennis Coach Philip Levkanich was the recipient of the Catherine McGraw Rock Award. This award is supported by an endowment established by Mr. Harold McGraw, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, to provide an annual prize to be awarded for outstanding service by a senior member of the Elmira College faculty.

Dr. Cory McCall, Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Religion, was the recipient of the Joseph Stein Award. This award was established and endowed by Dr. Edward Grandt, a College Trustee for eleven years, in memory of former Elmira College Trustee Joseph Stein. The prize is to assist a faculty member who is relatively new to Elmira College in enhancing teaching and scholarly effectiveness by study, research, and travel.

Dr. Lois Schoener, Professor of Nursing and Director of Nurse Education, was the recipient of the Douglas Anderson Award. This award is en¬dowed by the Anderson Foundation and Bertha Anderson Greenlee in honor of her father, who served as a Trustee and Treasurer of the College for thirty-four years, and who was recognized as an outstanding business and community leader during a long career with Hardinge Incor¬porated. The Anderson Award is given in recognition of excel¬lence in administration leadership at Elmira College.
