EC Theatre Students Nominated for Irene Ryan Scholarships

March 12th, 2013

Following their performances in the highly successful Noises Off, two Elmira College Theatre students received nominations to the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival’s Irene Ryan Scholarship competition. Nolan Oxley ’13 and Matt Ultan ’14 were recognized for their portrayals of Freddy Fellowes and Selsdon Mowbray respectively. They move forward to competition at the next KCACTF regional festival in 2014.

Also cited for their work on the production were stage manager Andrew Higgs ’14 and lighting designer Rebecca Piel ’13. The KCACTF honors excellence of overall production and offers student artists individual recognition through awards and scholarships in playwriting, acting, criticism, directing, and design. Through state, regional, and national festivals, KCACTF participants celebrate the creative process, see one another's work, and share experiences and insights within the community of theater artists.
