The historic connection between the early feminist movement and the founding of Elmira College is celebrated each year in our Women's History Month Lecture Series. The Women's and Gender Studies Program hosts this series each year in March, which is National Women's History Month. Our weekly lectures and events center around themes such as 'Art and Gender,' 'Masculinity and the Ideal Man,' Perspectives on Motherhood,' and 'Gender and Politics.' Our series often includes art exhibits and film screenings, and students are encouraged to give public talks as part of the celebration. We also organize a yearly talk on global gender issues to commemorate International Women's Day on March 8th. The events in this lecture series are open to the public.
A full list of dates and events will be available soon.
