Student Learning Commons at the GTL

The Student Learning Commons, located in the Gannett-Tripp Library, brings together, in a central campus location, a variety of services that support student success at Elmira College.  We hope you will visit us, often - we are all here to help you succeed throughout your career at Elmira College and beyond.  The services below are already located in the GTL.  We look forward to more services moving to the Commons soon. 

Gannett-Tripp Library
The Library is a place to read, research, learn, collaborate, discover, and study.  Our research librarians and consultants will help you find information, identify resources for your projects and papers, and teach you to navigate and access the millions of resources that are available to you at your Library and beyond.  We are available to help you during all Library Hours.  For more information or to schedule an appointment, please visit the Library Web Site or call (607) 735-1862.

 

 

Information Technology
Located on the terrace level of the GTL, Information Technology is located in the Nathenson Computer Center.  The IT staff look forward to assisting you with all of your computing and technology needs.  The state-of-the-art center includes an Open Lab, 2 PC Labs, a Mac Lab, and a Multimedia Lab.  For more information, or to schedule and appointment, please visit the Information Technology Web Site, or call (607) 735-1915.

Student Success and Advocacy
The Office of Student Success and Advocacy is dedicated to making the student experience successful. We provide personal student support, outreach/drop-in services, parent education and support, information and referral to other campus resources. Tutoring Services
Tutoring Services, located in GTL Room 109, provides Peer Tutoring to support all Academic Disciplines and Courses offered at Elmira College. Peer Tutoring is available in a variety of formats including Walk-In Tutoring, Dorm Tutoring (Fall Term), and One:One Tutoring. The Writing Center
Located on the first floor of the GTL, the goal of the Writing Center is make all students more effective, more confident writers.
