More than 40 percent of Elmira students study abroad, either through a 6-week Term III trip in the spring led by Elmira’s own faculty or a traditional 12-week term in the fall or winter at partner institutions around the world.

Immerse yourself in the cultural richness of London while gaining life-changing experience through a study abroad program with Regent’s University London. This new Elmira College partnership provides students the chance to spend a Term living and learning in one of the world’s pre-eminent capitals while exchanging ideas with students from around the world and earning credit towards their degree at EC.
Regent’s is an independent, nonprofit university with more than 140 nationalities represented on campus. The central London campus located within royal Regent’s Park, providing an excellent environment for study in the heart of the very best of London’s cultural and social life. The Academic Program
Eligible students will have a choice to study in London either during Term I or Term II of the 2017-18 academic year. The Term I trip, led by Dr. Bob Shephard, EC Professor of History, features two courses with Dr. Shephard while in London.
Students also enroll in up to two additional courses offered by members of the Regent’s University faculty. Students must consult with their academic advisors when selecting courses to ensure that they are compatible with academic requirements at Elmira College. Regent’s offers coursework in Art History, English, Fashion and Design; Film, Media and Performance; Global Management, History, International Business, International Relations, Media and Communications, Political Science, Psychology, and Public Relations. Students must spend at least two terms and be in good academic and social standing at Elmira College. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.750 is required. Students will need 1) a visa and passport, which must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry to the UK, and 2) to purchase appropriate medical and travel insurance.
Students who qualify will have the opportunity to spend fall or winter term living in Reid Hall on the Regent’s University campus. Participation in the University meal plan, access to WiFi, IT support, the library, sports facilities, and a drama studio and music rooms are all included.
This program is available at no additional cost beyond what the student would pay towards tuition and room & board at EC, other than transportation to and from the UK, books & supplies, and living expenses for laundry, socializing, etc. while in London.
A $1,000 nonrefundable deposit is required by March 13th. Program availability depends upon a sufficient number of students enrolling. In the event that the Term Abroad Program is cancelled, deposits will be applied towards fall tuition at EC. Interested students should pay their deposit in the Business Office, Room 127 McGraw Hall, to reserve a place for fall 2017.
