Communicate Clearly and Effectively

Each week, students enrolled in the Freshman Writing Program attend three class meetings and one individual tutorial session with their instructor to review and improve their writing skills.

The focus for students in the Program is to sharpen their skills to write intelligently, effectively, and concisely. The end product of the Freshman Writing Program is Selected Freshman Essays, an annual volume that highlights some of the most excellent writing produced by students in the Program throughout the year.
