Bachelor of Arts (A. B.)

Students majoring in art at Elmira College are exposed to a wide variety of traditional and contemporary areas. The program consists of a combination of studio work and artistic study, and  offers students a fine liberal arts background with excellent training in applied art. Students have a choice of specializing in Studio Art, Visual Arts, or Childhood Education Concentration in Visual and Performing Arts, and complete requirements in basic design, art history, sculpture, ceramics, computer graphics and animation, painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography. A senior exhibition is also required.

It is possible to prepare for a career in arts management by coordinating art courses with several specified business administration courses.

Recent Elmira College studio art majors have enjoyed a high acceptance rate into graduate school at major universities around the country.
