Psychology Curriculum

Psychology OverviewFaculty
Bachelor of Arts (A. B.) or Bachelor of Science (S. B.)

The psychology department at Elmira College offers a curriculum that has strength and variety which are unusual at undergraduate institutions. Building on the broad base of the faculty's expertise, psychology majors develop flexible and individualized programs of study. The core of each program is a solid training in the basic theories and research methods of psychology. The rest of a student's program can branch out into areas as diverse as life span development, counseling, social issues, or topics in business. The cohesive and energetic atmosphere of the psychology department promotes student involvement in various projects and groups, including the Psychology Club and the national honor society in psychology, Psi Chi. Students who major in psychology at Elmira College go on to successful careers not only in psychology, but also in a variety of occupations including business and law.

In addition to the required number of credits needed to complete the major, all students must also fulfill the general degree requirements in order to graduate.
