Each year, we award over $17 million in Honor Scholarships. Honor Scholarships are awarded regardless of financial need and are renewable with the appropriate grade point average at the end of each academic year for three consecutive years. All full-time accepted applicants are automatically reviewed for an Elmira College Honor Scholarship. These scholarship amounts will be available for students entering Elmira College beginning in Fall 2013 as Freshmen.
Valedictorian and Salutatorian Scholarships

Who Qualifies:
Competition is open to secondary school Valedictorians or Salutatorians with 30 anticipated scholarships available each year.

Presidential Honor Scholarships

Who Qualifies:
Awarded to accepted students who have earned a 3.5 academic average* (on a 4.0 scale) and SAT Reasoning Test, Critical Reading and Math total of 1200 (or ACT Composite score of 27).

Who Qualifies:

Transfer Honor Scholarships

Awarded to all accepted transfer students who have a combined cumulative GPA at all colleges previously attended of 3.3 on a scale of 4.0. $15,000 per year. Renewable with an Elmira College GPA of 3.3 on a scale of 4.0, for the number of terms normally required to earn the baccalaureate degree.

Achievement Scholarship for Transfer Students

Awarded to all accepted transfer students who have a combined cumulative GPA at all colleges previously attended of 3.0 -3.29 on a scale of 4.0. Beginning with transfer students entering Elmira College in the Fall of 2011, $8,000 per year. Renewable with an Elmira College GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 for the number of terms normally required to earn the baccalaureate degree.
Awarded to all accepted transfer students who have a combined cumulative GPA at all colleges previously attended of 3.0 -3.29 on a scale of 4.0. Beginning with transfer students entering Elmira College in the Fall of 2011, $8,000 per year. Out of State Award

U.S. Residents living outside New York State who visit Elmira College before January 31 of the senior year will receive an additional award of $12,000 over four years; $3,000 per year upon entering Elmira College, residing and boarding on campus. Not eligible if aid from Elmira College is equal to or greater than tuition.

The United States Army offers 1 ½ to 4-year full tuition scholarships plus a $1200 per year book allowance and monthly stipend of $300-500. For more information contact Lisa Dwyer or call 607-735-1929.

Note: The Scholarship Committee may take into consideration outstanding scores, academic average, rigor of academic coursework, recommendations, interview, and school & community leadership, if a student does not meet the academic profiles described.
