How do you decide whom to admit?

Academic factors, including grade point average, strength of courses, rank in class if available, and test scores are important. Participation in activities in school and in the community are weighed, as are recommendations and, in particular, your essay. We gather as much information as we can about you from as many sources as we can find. We accept students who we feel will make a contribution to the College and who will benefit from an Elmira education. The "fit" between the student and the college is the most important factor.
