TROY — Contrary to portrayals in movies, television
and magazines, women do not have to have a certain pant size to
live happy, healthy lives.
That was part of the message the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York were trying to get across to an audience young girls from around the Capital District Saturday during a healthy living symposium hosted by Russell Sage College.
The free, family-friendly event targeted girls from age 12 to 18 and featured a number of speakers, presentations, and opportunities to speak out and discuss the issues of body image.
