Allison Shultes ’11
History with minors in Biology and Political Science
Allison is currently living in Florence, Italy, pursuing her Master’s degree in Museum Studies through Marist College in collaboration with the Lorenzo de’Medici Institute. “I’m studying different aspects of museum studies, such as curating, educational programs, collection management, communications and marketing, registrar work, fundraising, exhibition design, and restoration,” Allison says.
As a biology and political science major at Elmira, Allison says she was used to getting weird looks about her variety of classes. “But I took the classes that interested me, and now I have found a field where all of my interests overlap!” As a student at Elmira, Allison took advantage of the Term III Study Abroad opportunities and traveled to Greece and Egypt. “I had an amazing time,” she recalls. “I learned more about Greek temples than I ever thought possible.” Regarding her future ambitions, Allison remarked, “Look for me running the Smithsonian down the road!”
