Individualized Studies

     Andrea’s course study at Elmira prepared Andrea perfectly for her career as a Film Producer with A. A. films. “By developing my course of study as an Individualized Studies major, I took courses in business management, marketing, communications, many English and writing classes, and a lot of theater courses,” Andrea says. “My communications courses from EC come into play all the time; all day long I’m talking on the phone with actors, equipment rental houses, and hotel managers. I’m also writing e-mails, deal memos, press releases, and script notes all the time, which is directly related to what I learned in English and writing courses.” Being so involved with EC’s theater department also prepared Andrea both as an actor and as a film producer. “I gained experience with on set etiquette, working with actors, and I understood the time and energy that goes into pulling off a theater production, or in my case, a film shoot.”
