Liz Warkentin '06
Classical Studies and History
Elmira prepared Liz to obtain her Master of Arts in Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of Toronto and to work on her Ph. D. in Egyptology at the University of Memphis. Liz realized her love of different cultures after traveling during Term III at Elmira College. “Elmira gave me the opportunity to travel to different places, such as Greece, Egypt, and Turkey,” Liz explains, “This showed me life outside the U.S. and taught me to be more accepting and interested in other cultures. These travels also allowed me to pursue my goals even if they seemed out of my reach.”
