Michael A. Ostrander ’02

Political Science and Education 

     Michael is an attorney with the law firm of Wilson & Ratledge, PLLC. Two Elmira College professors provided Michael with a roadmap for success after graduation. “I worked closely with Dr. McLaughlin to develop a plan to complete the degree requirements for both of my majors. He knew that I wanted to teach before I went to law school, so he was forced to assist me in preparing for two careers. That was quite a task, and Dr. McLaughlin helped guide me through the process with extraordinary patience.” Michael also remembers his education classes taken with Dr. Marchesani. “Dr. Marchesani challenged me to turn my weaknesses into my strengths. The teaching skills that I acquired from Dr. Marchesani are largely transferrable to the practice of law. Dr. Marchesani’s knowledge and insight were incredible, and I am very grateful for the lessons that I learned from him.”
