Tara Vanderweyde ’09

Chemistry

     Tara is working toward her Ph.D. in Biomedical Neuroscience and Pharmacology at Boston University Medical Center. Tara is researching Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias that affect the elderly population, and her research has been recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association and has been presented at conferences in both the U.S. and in Europe.
     Tara credits her success to the science department at Elmira. “All of the faculty and staff are very approachable and care about the students and our futures. The ability to do top notch research at EC was really key for my journey to an academic research institution; it’s truly amazing how the equipment and resources that I used at EC are now valuable assets in my current research.”
