Michael grew up in Horseheads, NY and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania where he was employed as a Career Advisor for two years. Michael returned to Elmira as the Career Development Coordinator at Elmira Business Institute.

During his time as the Career Development Coordinator at Elmira Business Institute and as the Career Advisor at Saint Francis University, Michael conducted student advising appointments such as resume critiques, job-internship search strategies, and interview preparation. All of this experience has prepared him to work with students at Elmira College.

Sarah grew up in the sparsely populated area known as the Town of Catlin in New York State. She attended Corning Community College where she received her Associates degree in Mathematics and Sciences. She then went to work at Wegmans, in Corning, NY, in the Human Resources and Accounting offices. In 2013, she began working as the Human Resources Assistant at Elmira College. Sarah also began pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Elmira College. Sarah now is the Secretary in the Office of Career Services. She will be able to help students with paperwork for their Community Service and Internship requirements and also help to set up appointments for students who wish to speak with a member of the Career Services staff.

A Southern-Tier native, Nick was born and raised in Corning, NY. He graduated from Corning-Painted Post East High School and went to Corning Community College to study Humanities and Social Sciences, which he later received his Associate’s Degree in. Nick then moved to New York City to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. During this time, he worked as a Research Assistant, collecting data through experimentation for a PhD Candidate’s dissertation study. Through this opportunity, he gained certification in Human Subject Research through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative. He received his B.A. in Forensic Psychology in December, 2012. Nick returned to the Southern Tier shortly after and became the Assistant Manager at the Corning Palace Theatre. Nick is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Management at Elmira College, where he works as the Placement Coordinator in the Office of Career Services. As part of his responsibilities in this position, Nick will be working with students at Elmira College to help find internship opportunities, as well as critiquing resume’s, cover letters, personal statements, and any other career or graduate school related documents. He will also conduct career-related research and administer workshops and events to educate students in the best career practices.

Taylor was hired as the Career Development Coordinator, in the Office of Career Services, just before graduating in June. Taylor grew up in Harrisville, a small town in Northern New York and graduated from Elmira with a B.S. in Childhood Education and Mathematics. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Education from Elmira College and will graduate with certification to teach K-12 Mathematics. While an undergraduate student at Elmira, Taylor was the President of the Sports Medicine Club and was the Student Athletic Trainer for various teams. Taylor is available to help EC students with on-campus employment, declaring a major, self-assessment, and other career development skills.
