Elmira College students are hosting a “Restore the Shore” fundraiser on Saturday December 8th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Campus Center Dining Hall and Tifft Lounge. The “Restore the Shore” project is being held to aid all affected coastal areas damaged by the recent Hurricane Sandy.

There will be several performances throughout the evening by Elmira College’s three a capella groups, the Chiclettes, A1 and the Sauce, and the EC Naturals. The Elmira College Danceline will also be performing, and free Zumba exercise classes will be offered in Tifft Lounge, by certified instructor Brittany Hayes ’14. Collection Jars will be placed at all locations, and donations are greatly appreciated.

In addition to the performances, there will be a silent auction open to the entire College community as well as the Elmira community at large. Students, staff, and community residents can bid on various donated items and all proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Association. The American Red Cross will distribute the proceeds to areas most in need.

Any checks should be made out to the American Red Cross.

If you would like to donate items for the auction, or make a monetary gift, please contact Mollyrose Jensen ’14, at mjensen14@elmira.edu.
