Two Elmira College students recently presented research at an international conference on analytical chemistry. Caitlin Eno ’13 and Katelyn Nicoletta ’14 both presented research posters at the 64th Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (Pittcon), one of the largest conferences of its kind in the world. Caitlin's poster was titled "Spectroscopic Investigation of Band-Edge Luminescence inn Magic-Sized Cadmium Chalcogenide Nanocrystals as a Function of Solution-Phase Equilibria". Katelyn's poster was titled "Spectroscopic Characterization of Acetic Acid-Derived Carbon Nanoparticles as a Function of pH".
Dr. Jared Baker, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, also presented at the conference. Dr. Baker gave an oral presentation entitled “Spectroscopic and Chromatographic Characterization of Magic-Sized Cadmium Chalcogenide Nanocrystals with Enhanced Band-Edge Verses Trapped-State Photoluminescence”
