The Elmira College Theatre recently presented Short and Sweet for the Arts Council For Chautauqua County at the Reg Studio Theatre in downtown Jamestown New York. Short and Sweet is a collection of four short plays created for the College’s Arts Alive celebrations by John J. Kelly, Professor of Theatre & Director of the Theatre Program.
A small but appreciative audience viewed the dramas Mandala and Choices as well as the comedies Ohio Navy and Tim, Dirk, and Haley. This small excursion marks the first tour for the theatre program in recent years. Taking part were Elmira College students Sarah Adriance '16, Ali Hutchinson ’13, Madelaine Whalen ’15, J.C. Trichanh ’13, Cris Thomas ’13, Isaac Quattlebaum ’15, Tony Naranjo ’15, Katherine Juliano ’15, Lara Quidore ’14, Jaime Katz ’14, Rebecca Piel ’13, Andrew Higgs ’14, Matt Ultan ’14, and Ksandra Unangst-Stejskal ’15, along with EC Technical Director Scott McGuire and Professors George de Falussy and John J. Kelly. In addition to the performances, Prof. Kelly presented a workshop on Physical Characterization to local high school and professional performers.
