Four Elmira College ROTC Cadets Commissioned as Officers

Four graduating Elmira College cadets were commissioned during the annual Army & Air Force ROTC Commissioning Ceremony in Cowles Hall held Friday, May 31. This ceremony marks the completion of their time as EC Army & Air Force ROTC Cadets and the beginning of their careers in service to our nation.

Lieutenant Colonel Daniel McKeegan, a Professor of Military Science at Cornell University, addressed students and their family, faculty and administrators during the Commissioning Ceremony.
The graduating Army & Air Force ROTC cadets include:

Lt. Clare Lowery ’13, Quartermaster/Logistics
Clare will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Childhood Education. She will report to Fort Lee, Virginia, for her first assignment.

Lt. Shannon Roemer ’13, Active Duty- Nurse Corps
Shannon will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. She will receive her assignment upon completion of her medical boards.

Lt. Albert Schmitter ’13, Quartermaster/Logistics
Albert will graduate as a Business Administration Major and an Economics Minor. His first assignment will be in Fort Lee, Virginia.

Shai Zilka ’13, Active Duty- Nurse Corps
Shai will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing. He will receive his assignment upon completion of his medical boards.
