Three science majors were successful in writing grants this term. The students co-authored the grants with Dr. Corey Stilts and submitted the grants to the American Chemical Society (ACS).
An Inter-Chapter Relations (ICR) grant in the amount of $750 was awarded to MaNada Khaing’15 for her proposal on funding a lecture and poster competition for the Corning/ Southern Tier ACS members.
A Community Interaction Grant (CIG) in the amount of $300 was awarded to Chelsea Zorn’15 for her proposal on creating a science night for kids event where the Elmira College Chemistry club would travel to a local elementary and allow the elementary students to perform science experiments.
An Innovative Activities Grant (CIG) in the amount of $300 was awarded to Abby Davenport’15 for her proposal on creating an interactive activity with Art and Chemistry for the Arts Alive program in March.
