With the conclusion of the 2013 men's soccer season, Elmira College will be going out on a high note as they landed seven players on the Empire 8 All-Conference team. Elmira's seven players is the highest number of Empire 8 All-Conference honorees EC has had in over 10 years.

Of Elmira's seven selections, three came as second team honorees while the other four earned honorable mention status. Senior defenders Doug Adjei '14 and Jared Cipriano '14 both received Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team honors, a first time all-conference selection for both players. In addition, Logan Chappell '14 also received Empire 8 recognition as he was an honorable mention selection after starting in all of Elmira's 17 games. All three players held down the back line as they were able to help Elmira maintain three shutouts on the season. Cipriano also contributed on the offensive side of the ball as he registered two assists on the year.

Rookie talent Michael Bryant '17 was Elmira's other second team selection. The first-year striker from Portola Hills, CA finished the year as Elmira's leading goals scorer with five, as well as EC's second leading point scorer with 12. In his first year with the Soaring Eagles, Bryant registered three game-winning goals with one of them coming against Empire 8 rival Ithaca College.

Ryan Limero '14 and Ernesto Valverde '14 both earned honorable mention status in their final season with the Purple and Gold. Limero came on strong for the Soaring Eagles late in the season, scoring goals in three of their final four games, including the game winner against number four regionally ranked Houghton College.

Limero's classmate, Valverde, led the 2013 Soaring Eagles points with 13 on four goals and five assists despite playing in only 13 games this season. Valverde will exit Elmira as one of the productive offensive players in college history as his 19 career assists are fourth most in EC history and his 57 career points are tied for eighth most.

Rounding out Elmira's seven Empire 8 All-Conference selections is rookie netminder Nick Lapinski '17. In 15 starts, Lapinski made 81 saves which was second most in the Empire 8 Conference, and registered five wins.

Also earning Empire 8 recognition this season is Austin Mansell '16. The second-year goalie from West Lebanon, NH was selected as Elmira's representative for the Empire 8 Conference Sportsman of the Year.
