Placement Files
What is a Placement File?
A placement file contains some key credentials you will
need to conduct a successful job search. Credentials include
professional information and supportive documents you have
collected related to your background and qualifications. Your
placement file is mailed to employers and-or graduate schools
either
at your written request or at the written request
of employers or graduate schools. A file is established when you
submit a completed Placement File Registration Form. Personal
copies of your placement file can not be released to you. If you
desire your own file copy, request copies of letters of
recommendation directly from the originator at the time you ask
them to write for you. Letters of recommendation will be accepted
only from those who write them.
Hand delivery of placement files is strictly
prohibited.
What is included in the file?
-
Elmira College Recommendation Forms
-
Letters of Reference (on writer’s official
letterhead)
-
Unofficial Elmira College Transcript (optional)
-
Copy of Certification (optional)
You may keep a maximum of
eight items in your file. Do not include a resume,
as it will become outdated quickly.
