“Elmira College is my home away from home”
What are your plans for the future?
I plan on graduating from Elmira College in 2013 and going right into Grad school for Psychology.
How did you get involved on campus?
My RA brought me to my first SAB (Student Activities Board) meeting on the first day of classes of my freshmen year. I have been an active member in the club ever since. I always encourage everyone I meet on campus to attend the SAB meetings and help bring different forms of entertainment to campus every weekend with our club.
Have you had any opportunities to network with alumni? Explain.
I actually stayed on campus last summer to work and take classes. One of the big events I volunteered for this past summer was Alumni Reunion Weekend. It was a lot of fun and I got to meet some really cool Alumni from as far back as the Class of 1940. They all had very interesting stories about how the college has changed and grown over the years and what they have been able to achieve with their education after graduating from Elmira College.
How did your EC scholarship benefit you or help you make your college decision?
When I was looking at colleges my number one decision factor was financial, so when I received the Valedictorian Scholarship, which covers full tuition for all four years, the choice was easy. By going to Elmira College on this scholarship I would receive a better education, have access to more resources, and be able to gain experience in a more hands-on environment than many of my state school options could offer; and it would cost less than the state schools!
