Teacher Recruitment Days

Held at SUNY Cortland, this Central New York Career Development Association event focuses on job placement for education majors. The 2017 two-day event hosted over 115 school districts and provided onsite interviewing opportunities for candidates, with Elmira College students averaging over 10 interviews between the two days. Community Service Fair

In the 2015-2016 academic year, Elmira College students completed 15,780 hours of volunteerism in the local Elmira community. Community Service is a distinctive program here at Elmira College – with students appreciating the concept of volunteerism, developing a compassion for those in need, and experiencing the rewards of community involvement. Graduate School Fair

Elmira College is a small, private liberal arts college where over 50% of our students go on to graduate school within a year of Commencement. This event is an excellent opportunity to educate our students about your various programs, to recruit prospective graduate students from all academic majors, and to enhance your institution’s presence within the Southern Tier region. Mentor Monday

Spend 15 minutes, one on one, with a business professional from the community. During the 15 minute time slot, students have the opportunity to have their resume and cover letter reviewed, interview skills critiqued, to make networking connections, or simply have a conversation with a professional who has years of experience in the position or industry matching the student’s career aspiration.

Live @ Five

Join the conversation for this interactive, virtual seminar series. This Skype-style series brings professionals from all around the world into our Elmira College classroom. Hear the career journeys of experienced professionals, get advice, and leave the seminar with a new connection and information on applying for jobs and internships at the speaker’s organization.

Lunch ‘n Learn

Scheduled once a month during lunchtime, the Lunch ‘n Learn series offer students an in depth look into various career development topics. Suited for all academic majors, the Lunch ‘n Learn series aims to enhance students’ personal readiness for life after Elmira.
