Elmira College Lecturer to Serve on Community Foundation Panel

Dr. Geetha X Louisnathan, a lecturer from the Elmira College Department of Human Services, will serve on the grant panel of the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, a small group of people with more than 40 years of grant-giving experience.

Geetha is a full time faculty member of Elmira College. She has worked with several non-profit agencies including United Way, Service Learning Center, and Virginia Polytechnic State University. She has also worked in international organizations like Ashoka Innovators for the Public, Virginia; Francois Xavier Bagnoud Society and the International Ocean Institute. The panel will review grant applications submitted by organizations in the Finger Lakes region and will recommend funding on November 10th, 2015. 

The foundation finds creative ways to support the growth and community development of the supported counties (Chemung, Steuben, Yates, and Schuyler) by forging lasting relationships with, and between, donors, advisors, leaders, and non-profits in the region.
